Applications and Advantages
ARMAK Geared Piston Motors can be used on numerous applications:
• Pneumatic Engineering, as drives for winches and man riders, conveyor systems, mixing applications, ship building, mining,
off-shore applications, general engineering or wherever high safety (explosion hazards, ATEX) is required. With simple control and ease of installation the Armak Geared Piston Motor is an excellent choice.
• In Renewable Energy, converting available heat sources into electric power. Applications include biogas plants, combined heat and power plants, sun mirrors or sun collector systems.
ARMAK Geared Piston Motors were initially designed as air motors; they can be supplied from 2kW up to 16 kW.
The basic design principle was kept, the motors can also be supplied as gas pressure motors to run on any non-corrosive gaseous media up to 15 bar and 135 °C.
All versions have the following technical details and advantages:
- Non vibrating even at high speeds
- Frictionless torque produced, resulting in long and maintenance free lifetime
- Completely enclosed motor casing – as air motor there will be no internal corrosion or internal oil sump
- Compact design and freedom of installation
- Large usable speed range and high start torque
- Metric flange and shaft for mounting of gear boxes
- Air motors have perfect control when combined with the ARMAK lever or remote control valves
